Cost of living comparison¿which is your ideal cost of living? - spanish_courage - 12-19-2012

Hi everybody! I think this post will be very useful if you want to move to another city..

I have just found a useful website where you can compare the cost of living between two cities:

http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/comparison.jsp

We can calculate and post the results of our cost of living,depending on:
*Food
*Housing
*Clothing
*Education
*Transportation
*Health care
*Entertainment
*Miscellaneous

For example my cost of living here in Spain is about 500 euros per month:
*Food-->200 euros ,gym supplements included
*Housing-->150 euros per month ,shared appartment with another 3 persons.
*Clothing-->I use to buy and renovate it each 6 months..doing a good inversion to not to do more unnecesary shopping
*Education-->Actually not needed
*Transportation-->I don't use nowadays,always by walk
*Health care-->350 euros per year(I think this a health insurance must be obligatory)
*Entertainment-->I don't drink alcohol,so I use to spend about 10 euros month in drinks(coca zero and so)
*Miscellaneous-->Books mainly approximately 30 euros /month

My plans are to move to another Eastern Europe country and have a cheaper cost of living(mostly a change of life,I'm boring to live in the same place all my life)

¿and which is your cost of living?

Where in Spain do you live?

Anyways. My cost of living varies per month. Here's an estimate:
(USD)
*Food: Anywhere from $200 to $600 (Depends if I eat at restaurants)
*Housing: Only have to pay utilities which run about $150
*Clothing: anywhere from $100 to $300
*Education: not needed, graduated from university.
*Transportation: from $200- $300. Only on gas. Here gas is about $1/liter
*Healthcare: I have two healthcare plans. One is $66, the other one it's about $75. If I need medication it's out of pocket.
*Entertainment: Sometimes $100 sometimes nothing. I'm trying to focus on my craft so I'm cutting down on the times I go out.
*Misc.: about $100 on books, etc.

This month I could say I have only spent about $300 on everything (including some antibiotics I had to buy) above as I haven't gone out because I was sick for about 2 weeks.

That said I like to travel and last year it ran me about $6000 in travel expenses. I think I went to miami, nyc, and two times to the dominican republic.
