This HAS to be staged. Where would they get a real, public elevator into which they could bring all that infrastructure, install cameras and get people to wait?
If it is for real, the guy playing the zombie was pretty fortunate that the male passenger didn't just roundhouse him on the spot. Or is the corpse actually a puppet? Its movements are quite lifelike...
