It's somehow shocking to see the Simpsons and video games as childhood experiences.

Back in the day there were no cell phones, no PCs, and games revolved around balls and dice and hungry hippos and knock em sock em robots and kerplunc and pick up sticks and hide and go seek. Eventually we also had pong.

In the summer most playing was outdoors with the local gang, and 3 hours was a day, and when your Mom called you to go inside for dinner you just wanted 10 more minutes! Because back then 10 minutes was a substantial length of time.
