What drinks do you order, whether for yourself or suggest to girls, when out at bars?

Roosh talks about ordering a Johnny Walker Black on the rocks.

My favourite is the Ramos Gin Fizz. If the bartender isn't feeling up for that I usually grab an Old Fashioned. Sometimes I ask them how they like their martinis (gin/vodka, clean/dirty, dry, etc...) and ask them to cook one up for me.

Otherwise i'll just ask for a shot of tequila. If they ask if i want lemon and salt i say fuck you.

It's probably just me but I don't actually appreciate the taste of most booze and am picky about it. Either that or I'm just OCD since I only really do clear drinks (or am I afraid of date rape drugs?). Usually gin & tonic, martinis if I'm sitting down and have the time to enjoy them... if I want to get tanked and later at night I just stick to vodka shots. I don't do brown yellowy stuff. I don't like whisky period, regardless of it's quality. The only coloured drink I have is campari with orange juice, when it's hot and I'm sitting outside or in a very hot club, I know it's girly but it's really refreshing. Beer is an afternoon beverage as far as I'm concerned and not a proper drink, the volume-effect-calories-ratio is messed up.

For women... well anything sweet and colourful that has multiple ingredients, if they look like hardasses and don't want to drink, just get them a corona. If you want to stay cheap, they have coloured and fruit flavoured beers over here.

Edit: Beaches are a whole different matter. Anything goes on the beach. Hell, I'll drink fruity cocktail stuff with the minature umbrellas and plants growing out of it while I'm wearing trunks, I don't care.

Old fashioned are a favourite. But not many bartenders make them well.

I always order a shot of Jameson and a beer. I don't really care if any bitches are around to see it or not.

A screaming monkey's butt....on the rocks with a twist of lime.

Fun thread but there is absolutely no reason you should be "impressing" a girl with your drink order.

Ice? Who wants that. It just causes a spill in your glass, makes it behave unpredictable and dilates ze booze. Sending it back. Give me a chilled glass. I don't want any other stuffs floating in my drink either. My punt would be on the only drink impressing the ladies is the 1500 a bottle and above fizz, so don't even try.

Her drink should include a maximum of alcohol but minimal taste of it. That's the real issue. I've tried perfecting this for years.

Long Island Iced Tea.

My standard order these days is 2 shots of Vodka and a Vodka/Red Bull to chase it. Previously I've gone either a Tequila shot with a pint of Beer to chase, or just a glass of Bourbon and Coke or Beer. Random other shots often make appearances as well (White Sambuca, Jägermeister, ABC shot, etc..) Otherwise, I just drink whatever whoever I'm with is drinking - sometimes you come across some tasty new poisons.

I don't know. Girls are pretty impressed every time I order the gin martini, extra hung.

On a serious note, having an interesting drink order is a way to have the bartender remember you, which is good for standing out from the crowd a bit.

I usually drink whiskey. I don't like a lot of ice, but if it's something mid-range I don't want it neat either. I order something like "Jameson, with three ice cubes." It stands out, but it doesn't make the bartender work any harder. Win-win.

Could you tell me a few drinks that are like that? I don't really know much about alcohol.

The way women drink these days, I actually often find myself doing the opposite. Once a chick is too drunk, she becomes a logistical nightmare.

I always get whiskey in one of those nifty tumblers and a Coors. Get whatever, as long as you're not drinking ice water or virgin margaritas or banana daiquiris nobody cares.

Not sure about everybody's experiences here, but I also act a little drunker than I actually am and (almost always) double fist because I find that women are less put off by somewhat aggressive drunk kino. I know it sounds like bullshit but I get the feeling that women don't trust men to act like men unless they're drunk or have been drinking. Maybe I'm just hanging out in the wrong bars.

What's the most impressive sounding drink you order around girls in bars? - Veloce - 08-07-2012

You don't really impress girls by what you drink. That said, you don't want to be drinking anything with an umbrella sticking out of it.

Nothing is more masculine than drinking bourbon, preferably neat, or on the rocks if you must. My go to bourbon is Buffalo Trace. It's reasonably priced and much better than Maker's or Jack Daniels (which I think is fucking nasty). If I'm at a bar where I know I'll get hooked up, I'll ask for a Templeton Rye, an Eagle Rare, or an Elijah Craig.

High end Scotch is also very masculine.

If you have to order a mixed drink, don't order something that has more than 3-4 ingredients. Old Fashioned is great, but try asking your bartender for a Sazerac, an American Trilogy, a Talent Scout, a Sidecar, or a Jack Rose. If the bartender doesn't know how to make any of those, it's not a very good bar.

Shots like AMF and shit...keep that limited to college bars. Order that in any serious bar in any major city and they'll probably chuckle and deny you.

I order with 2 cubes of ice, but you're right. Cosigned.

Man I remember when you could find good ole EC in the likka sto' fo $9.99 on sale. It is a proper bourbon.

In the DR to impress with baller status order a bottle of Jonnie Walker Black Label or Chivas Regal. Unfortunately I don't either, and stay simpleton with some Brugal Extra Viejo, or Barcelo Gran Anejo.

If by impressing you mean getting them drunk, double vodka sodas all day.

Seconded @ Vicious Do tell us what is the inference of your research on Drinks that are potent yet appear beign.

From what I have seen

1. Mix Vodka, Crytal Light and Ice and water (Deadly really hides the vodka taste). This is e-mech's drink

2. Lond Island Tea (LIT) like Arkitecht mentoned.

On a separate note I do not like to drink when gaming, Mostly I will just get a Beer(stella) just to mingle but what would be least potent Manly Drink to hold in the hand when making rounds at the Bar....
Rum and Coke ?

It depends alot on the venue, in a pub with a greater selection of beers and whiskeys I'll lean towards a dark draft ale if they have one or a newcastle brownale bottled if they don't. For my whiskey selection I'm a Talisker or Jamesons man, depending on what the bar has. There is some evidence that ales improve the strength of your bones along with containing alot of B vitamins, iron and anti-oxidants http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn18...ut-it.html and are a slow drink you can game with in hand, since they are served traditionally unchilled you don't get that warm beer issue you can have when working a room with a lager bottle in hand.

Clubs are a different animal, the beers are terrible and served in plastic cups. In Scotland you aren't allowed glass in clubs because of rampant late night violence so you have a choice between a spirit plus mix or a poorly poured, gassy, festival style pint. If you go to the right venues you can still get bottles of newcastle brown, but they will be poured into a plastic disposable cup for you. No clubs have a range of whiskeys and those that do usually just stock johnny walker red and black, while charging you over the odds to drink it. Normally I stick to a vodka and orange/cranberry/soda water + blackcurrant. WHile these are pretty fast and feminine looking drinks they are way better for you than fizzy juice, with far lower calorie intakes and some vitamin benefits. Most clubs in Scotland do not charge extra for a decent mix, so you can pay 1.20 for a vodka orange juice or 1.20 for a vodka with syrup coke+soda water. There is a heavy drinking culture in Scotland so if you run a tight soberesque game like me (no more than 5 drinks, aim for 3) you are going to get alot of pressure from girls, random guys, and social proof/wingman if you have one to drink more and faster. It's not uncommon for guys and girls you have only recently met to be buying you shots of whatever is on offer.
