Not helping at all the image of the US nor helping with tourism. I was planning on visiting a few places this year in the US but I think I'm going to spend my money elsewhere where I will be treated with respect and as a human being. Feel bad for these guys who got denied entry for such frivilious reasons. Each day, I thank God I wasn't born there and that I'm not living there.

Maybe they have certain triggers in cybernet for certain word combinations such as 'destroy' and 'A******a'. I've heard they have that in libraries so if you search for a book on certain things, they can get your library card revoked in the worst kind of way..

The worst police state in history? Really? Come on now.

If I were in the authorities shoes, I probably would do the same thing if I knew they had tweeted they would “destroy America" and now were trying to enter my country.

Take this story as a further lesson to be really careful what you post on social networking sites, especially with terror-phobic countries like the US.

Yea in my travels, I notice that all countries are like that, US is hardly an exception. It just seems that the US makes a drama out of anything. Try that in UK or maybe France and nothing would happen.

Not true, I've been arrested. I used my passport 3 days ago.

I understand we have high incarceration rates, but at least we don't mass-murder our citizens by the millions as did Mao, Stalin, Hitler, and many more. Mao is believed to have killed at least 50 million of his own countrymen. Are you saying that we have a worse police state than that?

As for your anarchy tattoo, have you ever traveled to North Korea? What about Iran?

I was just in China where they still block facebook and youtube. I would rather have access to information than not, wouldn't you? Let's not forget they also slaughtered their own civilians for voicing their opinions in recent history.

You might enjoy the book "Emergency" by Neil Strauss, the same guy who wrote "The Game." You're probably ahead of him for "when the shit hits the fan" but there's some good stories there on multiple passports, survival, and related stuff. If you liked "The Game" you'll probably like "Emergency" if you believe there will be a collapse of our society. I'm not worried about that but it was still a fun read.

Gringo, you make a very valid point.

I've been to countries where they used to literally slaughter any cat who got out of mouth. Freedom of speech? Say something out of line and your whole family would get sunned, in a very graphic way. This is not a recount of something I studied in books. This shyt is factual.
I speak of modern countries. Not ones that I visited back in the 19th century.

So yes, North America could be better (there's room for perfection everywhere) but travel to some places (not resorts either) and you will really see the world for what it is.

Alright gringoed, I'll give you the first part of the twentieth century as possibly worse than it is now, but most of the people slaughtered during that time were hardly innocent civilians. They were mostly political and intellectual enemies of the regimes that were in power at the time. My premise is that where we are now is unprecedented since the early to late 1950's. And what's worse, incarceration or execution? I'll take execution every time.

Well, not like those people who stuff foodstuffs for a year in their basements. I'm taking what you might say is a more "proactive" approach to the coming collapse. I anticipate that the coming period of history is going to reward those who can figure out what the opportunities are and can capitalize on them. There's a lot of opportunity out there in chaos that can be exploited.

I gotcha. I hope to be out of the U.S right after college anyway for multiple reasons, with actually being able to make a living among them.
