Dominican Republic - pitt - 12-09-2013

Ali if I am not wrong, you were staying in zona colonial, no? Why did you stay around here then if is that bad?

Anyway, in my opinion zona colonial is the best area because is the best place to network, you are always meeting tourists that come down here, most of tourists that come to Santo Domingo always stay here, zona colonial is always busy, if you look properly, the majority of girls walking around here are not hookers, there are many of them just shopping or coming to work around here. Zona colonial is closer to other busy places for day game, that's the local university and la duarte, there is always police around here, I never had any problems here but then again everybody knows me here. Girls are more likely to come link you when they know you stay in zona colonial, it's just easy for them to travel down here. For a newbie, you will need to be connecting with other tourists, I really recommend you to stay out here and once you get the idea of what santo domingo is like, you can move to other places.

This is just my opinion. Torontokid you probably want to pm caribbeansoul (he doesn't post much on here but has met several members) , he lived here for many months and knows santo domingo better than all of us, he is about that day game life, approaches, gets number, gets laid, plus, he is a native spanish speaker. He also lives here in malecon which is right next to zona colonial.

Dominican Republic - elabayarde - 12-10-2013

I agree with pitt, being that Toronto kid is a DR newbee that doesn't speak Spanish. The security in that area is just a lot better. Also, after dark, you cant just stroll around most other places on foot. Parque Independencia is a central hub for public transportation, so you can approach ALL day during rush hour. Now, I also agree If u guys want to meet, middle class girls, bella vista, and areas around the Malls will have more normal/middle class girls. I'll be in country soon, I may have a car this time so we can take TK around and see what he likes. But its much better to catch the public transportation if you want to learn your way around and not stay in the gringo bubble, banging semi's. It gets old quick when you live there. Many grow to hate a place because of that.

Dominican Republic - caribbean soul - 12-10-2013

Gazcue is closer to the universities, like utesa, oym and uasd, but they are close for christmas holidays. The busiest area will be in december the shoppings areas, like duarte street which is close to zona colonial. We all have differents tastes, but if i am going to stay in SD only december and i dont know the city and i have no car, i will stay in zona colonial and try to meet other forum members. Pitt is an approach machine and we both love do day game in Duarte street. Kavakid is always willing to know new places in the city and dont hesitate to approach, and elabayarde seem to beone of the main experts in SD. It is a good time to come to the Island of love.

Dominican Republic - elabayarde - 12-10-2013

Dammit the cats outta the bag on duarte. That place is another daygame gold mind. But its alittle sketchy once the sun starts going down.

Dominican Republic - Prototype - 12-11-2013

I will be in Punta Cana next Week (14 - 21 December 2013). Someone there who would like to check out some bars apart from the big hotel-Resorts?

Dominican Republic - Kaizen - 01-01-2014

Back from the DR (punta cana & sd) ; so much data on here already I thought I would just give a few quick thoughts:

badoo: set up a profile, maybe 20 girls contacted me for a meet up; all but one (who contacted me today) were complete dogs. Didn't meet with anyone

girls: more than enough quality and variety to satisfy a players tastes

Venues in SD:
zone colonial was the best
thought venezuela street was kinda sketch
Jet Set reminded me of the club in scarface; better love your latin music if you check this place out; lots of groups and birthday parties

I made a total of 1 approach my whole trip and that led to a bang. Clearly there's a parallel universe in the DR compared to home, where I wouldn't even want to calculate my conversion rate. Met her and a friend in ZC when my driver simply asked them if they wanted some company as they were sitting alone at a table. They said sure. As simple as that, no mystery method needed. Got the contact that night, a make out the next meet, and sealed the deal the following meet. Girl was hot and we ended up going to punta cana for nye and had a blast.

DR's the place to be a man. my driver was in his mid 50s and showed me pics of his current harem of girls ages 19 (!) to 30. all hot. I met one of them. Hard to imagine the equivalent scenario for a man here in the western world.

The unattractiveness of western women is no more apparent than after a visit to a place like DR. The woman beside me on the plane ride home was a complete boar that had at least 6 drinks over the short flight.

Any specific bars or restaurants in the Colonial Zone that you would recommend?

Dominican Republic - kavakid - 01-07-2014

I think Zona Colonial is all around the best location for nightlife.

Pluses: wide variety of girls, from low to upper class. Hippy girls also.
The primary party zone in the city. There are hundreds of bars/clubs. You have to go down every little street to find all of them though.
Lots of hotels for easy bouncing.
Many middle to upper class girls party in the clubs of zona colonial. Especially on weekends. Some of those clubs are somewhat hidden down quiet streets.

Cons: could deter an online girl from meeting you. As many girls with foreigners in ZC are pros. It is a little sketchy, especially at night. Don't wander off alone. Its dirty, literally the ground is trashed a lot.

I like Gazcue where I live because online girls are more comfrotable meeting you here. And its a 5 minute ride from ZC.

For you approach machines:

Santo Domingo, directly across the street from hotel/casino Barcelo is a colmado called next. A block down the street is a university. If you plant yourself there between say 5 and 8pm, there will probably be 50-100 18-25 yo girls per hour leaving from university to catch the bus, crossing right in front of you. Good luck.

Okay, come on, don't give away the farm.... Make them do a little of the leg work now. But yes, there are quite a few colmados and other places that Uni girls unwind at after classes. 5-8 is definitely the happy hour any day of the week.

I know a much better spot. But you will have to come hang out with me for that one.

Dominican Republic - caribbean soul - 01-10-2014

I passed by yesterday in that spot and it is good, but university start next week. I went from Sambil to Malecon walking, and I think the metro station of Centro Olimpico in maximo gomez is aslo a good spot. Fit young woman. Next week we should go to check it out

How long does a semester last down there?

Is it Jan - May like here with the summers off?

Dominican Republic - Masdinero - 01-10-2014

University is more or less all year. You need to remember that most of the students are part time and most take classes at night. That's why 5-7 at night, you will see tons of students.

Dominican Republic - caribbean soul - 01-10-2014

Masdinero is right, in summer they are summer courses. I think the main holiday period is christmas

Dominican Republic - Duke Castile - 01-10-2014

Dominican Republic - MidWest - 01-17-2014

Sorry for bumping this thread. But I have Santo Domingo on my radar for March. I will say im an expert on Mexico and places in Mexico but Im a complete newbie when it comes to the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. Any tips on where to stay for cheap, what restaurants to eat in, what sights to see etc... will be greatly appreciated.

Also any guys out there know if there is a racist backlash towards Hispanics of other countries? (Im Mexican from the US). I know they are racist towards Haitians but not sure if its directed towards other countries. Hows the Spanish there? I speak with a Mexican accent so im not sure if I would have problems and how it would affect my game. Pardon my ignorance but I would like to know these things. I haven't really traveled anywhere outside of Mexico and the US (Aside from staying a week in Argentina) and haven't really witnessed much cultures. Hope it all goes well. Thanks in advanced.

I don't think you should expect any sort of racial backlash in DR, - there is a bit of animosity towards Haitians among Dominicans but it's mostly for historical reasons. Dominican Spanish is a bit faster but you'll adjust in a day. Mexico is an advanced country in the eyes of Dominicans, you'll be just fine in DR.

Dominican Republic - slotek - 01-19-2014

I've been reading these post and they are quite informational however nothing is better than being around people whom are currently on the ground. I've never been to the DR though I've traveled some, my spanish is non-existent with the exception of what I've been learning on duolingo the past 3 weeks and learned growing up on the north side of Chicago. I'm not really interested in being in a really touristy resort or area but a condo, apt somewhere safe (I'm from Chicago originally so I know how to handle myself but every hood isnt the same) somewhere females have no problem coming to meet me at but close to the action I keep seeing ZC pros and cons though nothing that just makes me want to be there or 100% adverse to it either (I'd like to hear more about Gazcue). I'm definitely not the the hostel, cheap hotel, counting my pennies couch surfing traveler guy, but I don't need 5 star accomidations so that I can ball so hard muthafuck@$ cant find me kind of spot either. I'm most likely will pm "the driver" as he seems to be highly reccommended but wanted maybe some more info a bit more helpful and specific to me. Being I'm brand new here I dont want to start a new thread as it may not get answered (as pointed out earlier) any help, someone point me in the right direction people in SD early to mid Feb to grab a few drinks with etc..... It would be greatly appreciated.

Dominican Republic - Masdinero - 01-19-2014

If this is your first time, I would suggest staying in ZC. You can walk to bars and restaurants. Most girls won't have a problem coming to ZC. There are tons of average priced hotels in ZC. It is hard to find short term condo rentals in Santo Domingo.

You should hire the driver for a few days, so he can show you around the city and he share his info with you. The taxi fare from the airport to santo domingo city center is around $40, so the driver is a good deal.

Get on badoo, tagged and dominicancupid and start pipelining.

Dominican Republic - kavakid - 01-19-2014

Tagged is hitting off for me much better than Badoo these days. I think the masses of online girls have moved there. I always have like 5 messages on Tagged and 0 or 1 on Badoo (paying no money on either site). dominican cupid is the best as those girls are serious about dating, but it costs money. by the way, DC is cheaper down here. So consider using a VPN to make it seems like you are down here. You could save about $20 on a 3 month as I recall.

I still say Gazcue is slightly better than ZC if you can find a decent place to stay. Though ZC is okay overall, especially for direct pulling from bars (not so easy).

Driver is a good deal, espcially for the first day or two. a taxi is indeed over $35 from the airport. though its possible to spend about $12 taking taxi to bus stop/local bus to town/taxi to hotel combo from airport.

Dominican Republic - slotek - 01-19-2014

Thanks I'll check out tagged, and see what I can make happen there. As far as hotels are concerned what do you consider average priced (I asked as I know I'm a bit more picky than most) and what hotels in the area are a bit above average. I definitely like to go a bit more upscale as the wow factor usually makes the panties drop that much faster and I like nice places. I havent really made a budget as I don't know whats realistic, though from reading some post here I'm tempted to say money isnt an object but then again I plan on staying a few weeks so 100-$150 a night will not be doable. Also I work online so a good internet connection is a must anyone have experience with a place that might fit my needs in ZC??? or would I be better off figuring it out as I go along, which is what I usually do when visiting somewhere for the first time which seems to work best for me. Whoops and the main reason I'm going is to learn spanish, I don't want to go to a school but a private tutor whom can work with me one on one sorry if this is too much or the wrong thread if so let me know and I'll start a new one or whatever is needed to be done. Thanks in advance fellas
