Greatest Video Game you haver played - Max RNR - 10-18-2018

I'm a strategy/tactics and turn-based or atb video game player. I like some real-time action games, but mostly I have enough of that in real-life and like to get up from the video game when I want to, not when the game says it is time to step away.

My Number One is Final Fantasy VIII (orignal USA version) -- best/hardest final boss fight ever. I will tell my non-cheat/non-faq solution if anyone is interested. It is unique and hilarious, so I understand from others.

Others I enjoy for varying reasons are: SMT Nocturne, Persona 3-4, Catherine, Lara Croft Legend, Nier 1 & 2, Demon's/Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Valkeryia series, Wizardry/Lost Child style dungeon crawlers, Final Fantasy Tactics, Fallout New Vegas, Until Dawn, Disgaea 1 and 5, Dragons Dogma, Dragon Age: Origins, etc.

I mostly play games to relax and not to get charged up. Games for me are a type of meditation.

Seeing as the current console market is now nothing but a bunch of watered down PCs (Nintendo and other exclusive titles aside), the sixth generation of consoles was the end of an era (PS2/XBOX/GameCube). These were single purpose GAMING machines with quality releases. The good ol' days before excessive DLC, constant patches, releasing broken games, and required premium online services-- what a novel concept.

Al Lowe said the best platform to play it on was the Amiga or Tandy, among many reasons was the better sound capabilities (3 or 4 voices).

I'm surprised, I thought Interstate 76 sucked pretty bad.

Admittely, the Mechwarrior 2 game engine is its biggest flaw. Can’t get it to run properly on modern machines without glitches. Imagine a remake done on the Unreal or Crysis engine.

But have you seen the sequel, Interstate ’82? Talk about a rushed release/butchered game...

Larry 2 and 3 were (and are) my personal favorites.
