d gun printer Cody Wilson snagged in sex honeypot

Cody Wilson set himself up for a confrontation with the deep state years ago, when he came up with the Liberator. I was running in the same circles as him at the time, so I quickly found out about the effort... we had a lot of mutual friends. This is also the time that bitcoin took off, and perhaps unsurprisingly, it was a huge niche for libertarian/anarchist communities at the time. We were all marveling at the applications of both bitcoin and 3d printing of weapons components. Much less what was possible with new advances in cryptography... Anyway.
I always got the sense the guy was intelligent. But I saw hubris there too. I could see it in his face. Believe me, the guy is smart, but we are slaves to our baser instincts. He was doing some next level shit.
He had a target on his back for a long time, and with his law training (UT law I believe), he was a fearsome adversary to the pro-gun control crowd. At the end of the day, he falls victim to entrapment, yet another case where they don't follow the law. Tremendously unethical for something like that to happen USING A MINOR. Which reminds me, I think it was in Hawaii, they decriminalized police having sex with prostitutes in the name of having a better chance at stomping out prostitution. Whatever that means...
The honeypot is long-used trap. And given laws in the US, at the state level, you can do everything possible to make sure you're keeping it legal, and even if she deceives you, you're the guilty party--even if you've made got faith efforts to ascertain it's all good,:

Ignorance Is Not a Defense
Statutory rape is considered a “strict liability crime,” meaning that a defendant can be found guilty of this type of offense even if he/she was genuinely unaware that the alleged victim was under the age of consent. In other words, it is irrelevant whether or not the defendant had knowledge of the victim’s age, nor whether the minor agreed to the act. As impractical as it may be, adults have a legal responsibility to verify the age of all sexual partners.
Defendants can still be found guilty of statutory rape even under the following circumstances:
The minor lied about their age
The minor had a fake ID
The minor expressed their consent
The minor initiated the activity
I just pulled this from a law office website for a random state, but from my understanding, a lot of states share similar laws.
