Huge Carson fan from day 1 so I would love the pick.. Good counter balance to Trump, not just the skin colour but the way he presents himself - very calm, cool, collected..

If Trump didn't mention many times he wants someone with experience, I would be confident in Carson as well. I think that fact rules him out though. Trump did also call Carson extremely low energy when he was a challenger in the polls.

I just wonder how Carson would perform in the VP debates. Also I think that Trump needs someone with political experience to guide him behind the scenes.

I'm not sure if Carson has the pull to bring into the fold non-Republican voters, he doesn't really widen the base. He's black, but I'm not sure how much support he would get from the black community.

I think it's pretty clear that the segment Trump needs to go after are libertarians, independents and Reagan Democrats. That's why I think Jesse Ventura would be a good VP candidate, he comes with legit outsider anti-establishment credentials, experience as a governor, is a straight talker like Trump, a concerned patriot, and balances out Trump as a blue-collar counterpart to Trump's billionaire status while also emphasizing his alpha male attributes.

He would draw in a good chunk of Bernie sympathizers, not the morbidly SJW types, but the anti-establishment wing. He would also bring into play many midwestern states (MN, WI, MI,...) and libertarian-inclinded states like NV, NH and CO.

Trump stated his running mate will be a Republican politician.

“Well, it’s too soon. I just don’t want to do it,” Trump said. “I think that, you know, a lot of people are talking about certain names, and certainly those are the names we are thinking of.”

He did, however, suggest he would choose a politician.

“I have the business, let’s call them talents, and I think I’ll probably go the political route,” he continued. “Somebody that can help me with legislation and somebody that can help me get things passed and somebody that’s been friends with the senators and congressmen and all so we don’t have to go the executive order route as much as Obama did, you know, where he can’t get anything approved, so he just keeps signing executive orders.”

Asked later by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos whether his veep will definitely be a Republican, Trump responded, “Yes, that’s true.”

I am keeping Jon Huntsman as my #1 bet. #2 is Jeff Sessions. Trump could tap Huntsman, who endorsed Trump before the Indiana primary, as Secretary of State or reappoint Huntsman Ambassador to China if he makes the North Korean nuclear threat a major campaign issue.

Rob Portman, Nikki Lena, Ben Carson, Rick Scott, and John Kasich stated they do not want on the ticket. We'll see. The landscape will change in one months time.

Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Nikki Lena, John Thune, and Joe Scarborough are out. Though Thune and Scarborough never in, now they're out.

The @washingtonpost report on potential VP candidates is wrong. Marco Rubio and most others mentioned are NOT under consideration.

Rubio is retiring from the Senate and not seeking any other political office. Every presidential contender holding elected office while campaigning runs for reelection, except Marco Rubio.

What made Rubio and Cruz think they could win the presidential election before finishing a single term in the Senate? That is SJW level delusion.

Kristi Noem

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristi_Noem

Her support has been far too timid and Romney helped her get off the ground but on paper, she looks great. Her values contrast just enough where she is "wholesome conservative" without being a cuck.

To be honest, she hasn't been put on the hot seat enough for us to know where she stands.

Yes, I did suggest her because shes hot and conservative.

Farmer, rancher, small business owner: good stuff. Would help in NV, CO, NH, ME among other states.

Pro-KeystoneXL, good for both the US an Canada. Looks great for her age (WB)

Newt is now the Vegas favorite, kicking myself for not placing a bet in when I first suggested him in the main Trump thread (at time of that post it was 15X, it's now at X2.8)

Feel like dropping some cash, any suggestions? Thinking of placing small bets on Hunstman and Joni, both decent payouts.

Two weeks ago Jeff Sessions said it "sure won't be me."

Oddsmakers have Newt Gingrich, Joni Ernst, and Jeff Sessions as the top three, with Gingrich rising. Huntsman is pretty low, but he's less known than the others. More at Betfair and PredictIt.

Trump/Huntsman. Clinton/Castro. Trump/Huntsman. Clinton/Castro.

Joni is 7X and Sessions is 13X payout for the site I use.

Scott Brown for some reason is at 4X payout.

If I had money on it, and I do, I'd say it will be Bob Corker.

It's one of the oldest tricks in the book to deny being interested in what you're actually interested in. Helps prevent people from maneuvering against you because they won't know what you're actually up to. I wouldn't be surprised if Sessions or Carson were still in the running.

Interesting Trump just scheduled a meeting with Corker this week...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Corker

Robert Phillips "Bob" Corker, Jr.[1] (born August 24, 1952) is an American politician and the junior United States Senator from Tennessee, serving since 2007. Corker, a member of the Republican Party, is currently the chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations in the 114th Congress.

In 2012 Corker was re-elected, defeating Democrat Mark E. Clayton, 65% to 30%. (Knows how to win an election against a Golden Obama Boy in a landslide).

Seriously powerful... with important Foreign Relations knowledge - neutralizes the Hideous Horrific Hag from Hell at her supposed strength.

Knows by now how the senate works...

Reasons why I think it will be Corker:

Personality is a natural fit for Trump.

Corker made his money in real estate before moving into politics. Which is why Corker is a practical deal maker instead of a strong ideologue, because he doesn't need special interest money anymore than Trump.

Which leads to Trump saying he will not take a paycheck as President, and Bob Corker already donates his salary to charity.

He also has the extensive and current political experience Trump wants, without being on almost every Trump critical committee like Sessions, which would be a major loss if Sessions became VP.

*Bonus points, he has argued extensively with Cruz on the floor of the Senate about Cruz being a slimey bastard with regards to policy proprosals.

Top candidates:
-Scott Brown
-Jon Huntsman
-Bob Corker
-Newt Gingrich.
-Jeff Sessions

I'm leaning towards Jeff Session.

Trump can win with almost any Vp he can pick. His VP does not need to someone who can increase his chance of winning. His VP only needs to be someone who won't hurt his chance of winning. As of this point I've no doubt that he'll win the popular vote. So winning election shouldn't be the foremost basis in picking VP. He should pick someone who can help him dealing with congress and reliably carry on his platform in case a bullet hit the wrong place. Jeff Sessions, for example.

Mickey Kaus would be funny. Make a Donald/Mickey ticket.

I've suspected it might be Jeff Sessions ever since he said "It won't be me." It's classic political strategy to deny the thing you're after to prevent others from sabotaging your efforts by plotting against you.

Sessions would be OK in my book,. The one downside is that it would take away one important Trump ally/enforcer in the Senate. This is an important asset to keep given that the party is infested with globalists who are going to try to undermine President Trump from the inside.

Gingrich is out, thankfully. Reportedly, he was the string attached to an Adelson $100M offer. NG is just the Hegelian good cop to his leftish Hillary bad cop counterpart, deep down they're really two sides of the same rotten coin.

Infowars suggested that Trump would've been assassinated if he picked Gingrich and won, much in the same way that Reagan was almost bumped off with GWB Sr as VP. Makes sense to me.

I wouldn't mind Huntsman Jr. He seems like a good guy.

He might not be super cool but super cool is not what Trump needs in a running mate. He is a very principled and experienced politician who genuinely stands behind the nationalist platform of Trump, and who could lead in the same direction in the event something happens to the president.

And even the name of the ticket sounds great:

TRUMP-SESSIONS 2016

It sounds like unending episodes of winning. Winning on immigration, winning on trade, winning on fighting corruption, so much winning everyone gets tired of winning. But no, tomorrow will also be full of trump sessions. A trump session before breakfast, three more before lunch.

It's gonna happen.

Did they just meet? Or have the know each other for a much longer time? Trump made it seem to his competitors like he just wanted to run, on a whim, for the hell of it. Yeah right, that's not what happened.

Flashback to 2005:

While Sessions would be convenient in the Senate, he ticks all the right boxes. It is gonna be him.

I'm not so sure about Huntsman. From what I've read, he's a member of the Bilderberg group. Now I don't know as much about politics as some on this forum, but I know enough to be suspicious of anyone that's a part of that fucking organization. If there are doubts about Gingrich, there should be doubts about Huntsman as well...and for all the same reasons.

As far as I know, Sessions isn't tied to Bilderberg, he shares much of Trump's same ideology, and just seems like the safer, smarter choice.

I like Sessions but the SJWs Marxist Feminist Open Borders Globalists are out in force for the Shrillary as the First Women history making Choice meme... Joni Ernst is a former Military National Guard Reserve officer (LtC) and is a darling of the Koch libertarian brothers and their massive Donors network - far more powerful than Adelson.

A patriotic intelligent woman who knows her way around the US Senate and the DoD - 8 years as Trump's understudy and she would be a first Female President we could actually respect.

She makes both Hillary and Pochontas look like petty 2 bit sorority gossip girls by comparison.

We need to keep Sessions seniority in all of his Committees and promote him to as many Chairman slots as possible.
