I'm going to take a guess that the person(s) behind this aren't too sophisticated.

Serious hackers go after people's identities in a way that they can extract financial benefits. I suppose to register at Ashley Madison you would need to put your name and other sensitive information so that they can screen you. Here all you need is an email. There's no real financial benefit to hacking this place.

The ones behind this are probably just Anon faggots making a point in favor of "social justice."

That's a great point. The incentive is probably low. However, we live in a world of people who attack based on ideology (bordering on religion). They will dox us just to satisfy their need to "do something about evil". Best to take preventative measures rather than deal with fallout.

You know what's really ironic, and in the actual meaning of the word rather than the hipster meaning of the word?

That sounds EXACTLY like the evangelical Christianity they love to hate.

Cloudflare and Fail2ban are normally 2 things you should implement on the server, but I see that you already did that. I was greeted by a Cloudflare page for the first time today when logging in. A lot of attackers use DNS amplification techniques, where they send a request to a DNS server using a forged IP to send the request back to you. Request is around 50 bytes, and reply can be up to 1 Kb. This is there Cloudflare comes into play.

This seems to be coinciding with coordinated spam 1 star reviews on amazon of Roosh's work.

Isn't this the image Roosh posted during the DDOS attack?

If it is reliable the source of the the attack looks like Hong Kong. Or mayve Hainan. Not exactly the centre of feminist or "SJW" world. Seems unlikely but if the Chinese security services really didn't like QC's article about their country I guess they could be childish enough to DDOS Return of Kings and associated sites. Or maybe individual Chinese hackers who felt insulted.

But the problem with presuming it was "SJW"'s or private Chinese hackers with a national face saving cause is that they would not have been able to contain themselves and would have claimed responsibility by now.

Incidentally, how easy is it to ID the exact ISP and location of an attack? If it is easy/possible, it opens up the possibility of legal action and or sanctions (when the US put in lace new laws to deal with Chinese hackers).

Nah dude those are people who just emerged from the 2nd world, they don't give a shit about any of that stuff. They just care about filling their pockets with money at any cost. If some will go as far as adulterating milk to make a few extra bucks even if it kills babies, you can probably find some of them who'll rent you a botnet.

I like conspiracy theories about who is doing this. Who has enough money to keep this crap up for days and days?

Bilderbergs!! The Frankfurters!! ILLUMINATIS!!!

My pet theory: 2000 posts in the Trump thread. The Establishment does NOT want him elected.

Many secretly hired, full time hackers tasked with bringing down all sites with significant favorable posts about Trump.

And if they want money to hire Chinese botnets, it's pennies to the Koch Brothers.

Someone is doing this and they are continuing their efforts from the little I know about networks. SOmeone is changing things so the attack keeps causing problems.

It costs money to keep people working at things day after day. THE ROTHSCHILDS!!!!!

But seriously. I'm "high" enough without using anything so it's not my scene. Maybe something in the water though...
